I remember when I was back in middle school, all my friends would run home on Tuesday night to watch 90210. Those numbers defined a generation, it was the soap opera for tweens and teens alike. It launched the career of Jennie Garth, Luke Perry, Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling, Shannon Dorothy and so many more. Shanice made a number one chart topper with “Saving Forever For You” that they played at their senior prom. Yes, those were the days. We all would watch, dreaming of what High School would be like and those in High School dreamed reality was like 90210.
I still remember the break up of Dylan and Brenda, then Dylan went with Kelly causing a huge riff between Brenda and Kelly… Remember? Do you remember the last episode, they were all grown up and in college… I think when that show ended, an entire generation lost its identity. Except Melrose Place helped keep it along.
Tonight, on the CW… its back! Its 90210 in 2008. Some of the old charecters come back as adult charecters, West Beverly High reigns supreme for a whole new generation to fall in love with. New Charecters, new plots, same great drama that any child will relate to.
This time the show is created by Jeff Judah who has big shoes to fill; he re-creates the hit Aaron Spelling made a household name with. Lets give it a chance, remember, this spin-off has a lot of hype and standards to live up to and the makers know it. Having some of the old cast on should help soar it to another night time tween drama success. So all you 90s kids, get your popcorn ready, get in your pajamas and get in front of the television as 90210 is reincarnated. Get on the phone and talk to your girl friends and gossip about the plot, and remember…no school tomorrow…. except for you class of 2008 and those still in school!
