cobbtheatresjuly08bThere’s a new theater in town, and it’s the crème de la crop of movie theaters.  Located in Wesley Chapel at the new Groves Shopping Center is one of the most luxurious theaters ever built in the Tampa Bay area.

The Grove 16 boasts stadium style seating and offers ample places to sit in any of its 16 large theaters. There is also a  huge standing concession area.

The second floor of this theater is a fancy bistro called Cinebistro, which guests can access by escalator or stairs. Customers can dine in the café or sit at their seats in a VIP section filled with super wide leather seats while a waiter caters to them prior to the show starting.  Each theater looks like a stadium with private boxes in them.  You can get wine, beer, or first class food while waiting for your movie to start.  The Expressionist gives it 5 stars for date-ability.

Grove 16′s prices are a bit more than other theaters, but for some it may be well worth it.  Right now because the theater is all the way in the back of this new complex and there are no other buildings near it, there are plenty of places to park.  As we all know this is Pasco County and they won’t let that empty land stay empty, so who knows how long a surplus of parking will last.  Once new stores come in, people will use that parking lot for overflow, I’m sure.

We must forewarn you, State Road 54 through Wesley Chapel at the I-75 overpass is extremely crowed with the businesses that are there, so no matter the time of day, it’s hard to travel.  If you want to see a movie here, leave early, especially on Friday night.  One accident can cause this entire intersection on the highway and SR 54 to be completely shut down.  This would be the only downfall to the movie theater, which isn’t the fault of the theater at all. Instead, it’s the fault of extremely poor planning by the developers and the City Council of Pasco County.

So if you are looking for a great place to take a date or you just want to experience a new way to watch a movie, we highly recommend this beautiful new theater, nestled in Wesley Chapel.
