Taste Of Pinellas

This weekend marked another great event to help out a Tampa Bay charity.  The Taste  Of Pinellas offered great food, entertaining music and fun events for the kids to raise money for All Children’s Hospital.

We showed up on day two to watch our hard rocking, hair thrashing Holes And Hearts perform on stage in front of 200 or more.  As usual, people were in awe over their amazing stage performance, and couldn’t believe their talent for such a young age.  By the sixth song, I saw they were exhausted and the heat was unbearable, but like true performers they fought their fatigue and gave the best possible show they could.  They have once again showed their awesome talent and maturity as true artists. Brilliant show for these guys as they send off on a two month tour starting in Los Angeles, and working their way back to the East Coast.

Following Holes and Hearts was the legendary 70s icon and disco mogul, KC and the Sunshine Band. This native Floridian knows how to move, knows how to sing and knows how to shake his groove thing.  He may not look like he did back in the 70s, but his sound is very similar, and his energy on stage is still strong.  It was so nice to listen to him sing my favorite song of his, “Please Don’t Go.”   KC must have played in front of 5000 or more; you couldn’t move when he came on stage.

The only real complaint I have about this event is the parking.  I had to park on 1st Ave and 2nd street, which was quite a haul.  City dwellers said all you have to do is take a tram, which wasn’t free and wasn’t cheap.  If you didn’t come prepared with parking and tram money, you were forced to walk a few miles to the show.  In the heat, then to stand all day, that wore me out.  I wish these events would allow for better parking. If they can’t get close parking, then allow transportation services to cater for free.
